The new Highland specialty tour, Rediscovering Highland, focuses on how a presidential home was lost and found, and how historical myths are passed on over time. Participants will examine how archaeology, architectural clues, and written accounts enabled Highland staff rediscover the Monroes’ main house, as well as to identify the presidential guest house on the property. Learn how architectural details and archaeological artifacts preserved an unrecorded story. The Rediscovering Highland tour will be offered on Wednesday and Sunday at, 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
