Virginia Festival of the Book: Reexamining the Birth of a Nation, Jamestown and 1619

In partnership with the 25th Annual Virginia Festival of the Book, Highland will host James Horn, author of 1619: Jamestown and the Forging of American Democracy, and Joseph Kelly, author of Marooned: Jamestown, Shipwreck, and a New History of America’s Origin, on Sunday, March 24 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Horn and Kelly, in conversation with archaeologist and Highland executive director Sara Bon-Harper, will reexamine well-known stories of the origins of Virginia. This event is free and open to the public.
