On Saturday October 5, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Roger Authers, artisan and wood turner, will be at the Highland Museum Shop demonstrating his craft. This demonstration is FREE and open to the public. Come learn about the art of wood-turning, and the various techniques used on a lathe to produce bowls, table lamps, candle holders, and the like. On display will be examples of Roger’s work at various stages of production along with finished products using a variety of locally-harvested hardwoods. His laminated creations of contrasting color and texture are especially attractive.
