Virtual Program: Francophiles, Friendships, and Femmes Artistes

Join us at 7:00pm on Tuesday, November 16 as we will welcome Maura Gleeson, Visiting Professor of Humanities at Valencia College, for the virtual program: Francophiles, Friendships, and Femmes Artistes. Program participants will learn more about the Monroe family’s connection to Madame Campan, Eugène de Beauharnais and Hortense Bonaparte—friendships that began in 1790s France—as well as new scholarship on the artists behind their portraits.
