Historic Tree Walk at Highland
July 3 @ 9:00 am - 9:45 am
Join us on Saturday, July 3, from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m., for this Historic Tree Walk with Highland Guide, Sharon Hiner. Participants will learn about Highland’s mature trees during this 45-minute walk at James Monroe’s historic property. We will observe a hemlock and towering white oak that date to Monroe’s time. Highland’s open spaces afford vistas of ash, black walnut, maples, oaks, and other native trees. Learn about Highland’s mature trees as well as how Highland trees and tree-ring dating have contributed to historical interpretation.
Admission to this Historic Tree Walk at Highland is $10 per participant. Attendance is limited to eight participants.
Participants are expected to comply with all CVOID-19 precautions while at Highland. Masks are required when six feet of social distancing cannot be maintained. Masks are required inside of all interior spaces at Highland, including the Museum shop.
