Book Talk: The American Revolution and the Fate of the World

March 1, 2026 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

As part of Highland’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday, please join us at Highland on March 1st from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. for a conversation with author Richard Bell about his new and timely book, The American Revolution and the Fate of the World. In it, Bell widens the lens on the Revolution, revealing the “War of Independence” as a sprawling struggle that upended the lives of millions of people on every continent and fundamentally transformed the way the world worked. The result is an unforgettable new perspective on America’s founding fight that shifts everything we thought we knew about our creation story.

This event is free and open to the public. The American Revolution and the Fate of the World will be available for purchase in the Highland gift shop leading up to and after the event. Follow the link below to sign up for this FREE event.

Richard Bell is a Professor of History at the University of Maryland and the recipient of both the National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholar award and the Andrew Carnegie Fellowship. He is the author of four books and more than a dozen articles and book chapters.
